If you're looking for a quick fun game for two or the whole family, this is a great option!
Theme: Well, you're making a salad, of sorts.
Specs: 2-6 Players. The box suggests 15-30 minutes. You might could squeak a two player game out in 10 minutes of you're both speedy, otherwise, I'd say 15-30 is a fair range.
Recommended for ages 8+. This is a beginner level game. There is minimal reading and some basic mathing involved.

So, there's this phrase used to describe some board games called "point salad". It means that everything you do in the game earns you points. So these wise acres listed above took that term and made a super fun (and funnily titled) game based on that term. And I'm so glad they did!
So basically, there is a deck of cards. One one side of each card is one of six different types of veggies; carrots, peppers, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, or cabbage. On the other side of each card is a scoring perimeter, for example Fewest tomatoes = 7 points. A specified quantity of each veggie type removed from the deck based on the number of players. Then all the cards are shuffled together. Then they are split into three equalish piles. You can just eyeball it, it doesn't have to be exact. The piles are scoring side up and then two cards from each stack are flipped veggie side up in front of the corresponding stack.
Oldest player goes first taking one of two actions; 1) drawing two of the veggie cards or 2) drawing one of the scoring cards. Then the player may take one of their current scoring cards and flip it to the veggie side if they so choose. And round and round it goes until all of the cards have been drawn by players. Then scores are tallied and a wallah! You have a winner!
It's fast, fun, and easy to learn. It's also just a deck of cards so it travels easy. Definitely a great addition for any level gamer!
